Nico Paz Hopes for Real Madrid Return, But Focused on Como for Now
In a recent interview, former Real Madrid youngster Nico Paz expressed his desire to return to the Santiago Bernabeu in the future. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder left the Spanish giants this summer in a £5 million transfer deal, joining Italian club Como.
Paz made eight first-team appearances for Real Madrid last season, helping the team win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. He spoke highly of his time at the club, praising manager Carlo Ancelotti and teammates like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Rodrygo.
"I’ve always loved Modric, since I was a kid. Another one I admired a lot was Kroos. And then Rodrygo: you couldn’t steal the ball from him, he’s one of the most technical players I’ve ever seen," Paz said.
Despite his desire to return to Real Madrid, Paz is currently focused on his development at Como. He’s already made a strong impression in Serie A, notching three assists in five games.
Como boss Cesc Fabregas was thrilled to sign Paz, praising his potential and versatility. "There was significant interest in Nico from other clubs, which is understandable. He’s an exciting talent, left-footed, and versatile both on the wing and in the centre. I am eager to work with him," Fabregas said.
Paz’s move to Como is seen as a smart decision, allowing him to continue his development in a competitive league. With his impressive start to life in Italy, it’s no surprise that he’s already generating interest from other clubs.
