EXCLUSIVE: Juvenal Edjogo’s Shocking Claims on Ballon d’Or Voting Scandal
The Ballon d’Or award, the most prestigious individual honor in the world of football, is set to be announced today, and the build-up has been immense. With Real Madrid trio Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe in the mix, it’s no surprise that fans are on the edge of their seats. But, just as things were getting exciting, former Equatorial Guinea captain Juvenal Edjogo stunned the football world by claiming that his votes were changed to favor Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Going back to 2013, Juvenal alleged that his original votes were manipulated, and he was shocked to see that his name was linked to Messi and Ronaldo, players he did not actually support. "What I can say about this type of award is that in 2013, I voted for my three players for the Ballon d’Or, and I sent my votes, and in the end when it was made public, the list of who voted for whom, my votes were different," he said. "It said I voted for Messi, Cristiano, and I don’t know who else, but I didn’t vote for any of them. That’s why I say, I don’t believe in absolutely anything about those awards. Since then, I’ve thought these awards have no value."
But, here’s the twist – Juvenal’s name was not even listed as a public voter in 2013. So, what’s going on? Did the votes get lost in transit, or was there a more sinister plot at play?
In a statement, Juvenal backtracked, saying that he was only one of many captains and coaches who voted, and that he couldn’t be certain if his votes even reached FIFA. "For the 2013 Ballon d’Or, the only ones who voted were coaches and captains. I was the captain of the Equatorial Guinea national team for more than 10 years and I sent my votes for Drogba, Iniesta, and Falcao through a link that we had to fill in after downloading. I don’t know if my votes didn’t reach FIFA because a journalist impersonated me."
While we can’t say for sure what happened, one thing’s for certain – this is a bombshell accusation that’s left the football world reeling. The integrity of the Ballon d’Or award is being called into question, and we need to know the truth. Follow us on all social media platforms for more updates on this developing story!
