Jens Lehmann’s Chainsaw Rampage: The Ex-Arsenal Goalkeeper’s Bizarre Brawl
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has been slapped with a £113,000 fine for his role in a bizarre chainsaw-fueled brawl with his neighbor in Germany. The 54-year-old, who was part of the Invincibles team that went the entire 2003/04 season unbeaten, had a falling out with his neighbor over a dispute about his £4.2 million property in southern Bavaria.
According to reports, Lehmann decided to take matters into his own hands and used a chainsaw to saw off a roof beam in his neighbor’s garage. But that wasn’t the only crazy move he made. He also tried to turn off the CCTV cameras to avoid getting caught, but his neighbor was able to watch the whole ordeal unfold on live broadcast.
The police were called to the scene, and Lehmann was initially fined £351,000 for his role in the incident. However, the fine was reduced on appeal. Lehmann’s lawyer, Florian Ufer, said that his client had "come to an agreement with his neighbor" and had paid the fine.
But this isn’t the first time Lehmann has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Earlier this year, he purchased the "Invincibles" trademark, preventing any other brand from using the term, including his former club Arsenal. Arsenal had never considered securing the trademark and were unaware that anyone had plans to do so.
Lehmann’s decision to buy the trademark has been met with criticism from fans and former players. The former goalkeeper claimed that he did it to protect the brand, but many have accused him of trying to profit from his past success.
The incident has raised questions about Lehmann’s behavior and whether he is still holding onto his ego from his playing days.
