During a video analysis aired on CBS Sports Golazo, expert Ian Joy claims Taylor was in the wrong spot when Bruno Fernandes was making a pass forward, preventing him from effectively receiving the ball. By interfering, Taylor forced Manchester United’s midfielder to shift direction and lose possession
Ian Joy posted the tweet video to his Xaccount with the caption:Why aren’t we talking about the referee’s role at Old Trafford? He later reiterated: “I mean, what’s the play by Anthony Taylor? As an international referee, has he lost his way.”
Not everyone agrees with Mr. Joy’s assessment.
