Wrexham striker Sam Smith was inspired to become a footballer, when Sir Alex Ferguson invited him to meet all the players in the coach of the Manchester United Team.
26-year-old Smith was a wire-eye-eye baby when the legendary pre-red devils boss allowed him to complete the choice of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Roney.

He also played the same young teams with United during his ten years in his ten years as Marcus Rashford, Scott Mactominy, Angel Gomes and Axle Tuanzebe.
Smith told Sunspport: “I met Sir Alex a few times. He used to watch the academy game.
“He knew everyone and would talk to the family. He was the kind of man he was.
He said, “Before leaving for the game to meet all the players, he used to invite under-service and under-eight in the first-team coach.
“As a child and a huge Manchester United fan, meeting all the stars was something I would never forget. This inspired me to try to stay there one day.
“Ronaldo and Roney were two players I saw, so it was a big moment for me.”
Smith was united from the age of six to 16 years and saved memories.
He said: “The values and lessons I learned were more than the region.

“It was more about being a good person and professional. Working hard will lead you to be a good footballer. It was established in a lot of academy. It stood for the club.
“There are many academy players who do not go to play at the top level, then there are good EFL careers.
“I was in the same age group in the form of Rashford and Tuenzebe, which is in Ipswich.
“Angel Gomes played an age group, while Scott Mactomin played. Subsequently, Rashford was not a striker.
“He was not a 10 or holder. He was really small. I went to school with all of them on day-to-day basis.
“You can see that Rashford had a talent that no one else did. It was no shock that he went to play for England and United.

“I proceeded in the first team from the academy and went back and had a successful time. I always gave my everything for him.

“My father and my father have welcomed wrexham to the documentaries and I have heard good things about the owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McCaleni. I have not met him yet.
