FA Tipped to Poach Jurgen Klopp After Gareth Southgate’s Resignation
The Football Association has reportedly set its sights on Liverpool legend Jurgen Klopp to replace departing England manager Gareth Southgate.
Southgate resigned as the Three Lions boss just two days after suffering a heartbreaking Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain. With the next England manager already being heavily speculated upon, Klopp’s name has emerged as a strong contender for the hot seat.
Not only has the German gaffer left a lasting impact on Liverpool since taking over in 2015, but he’s also earned widespread recognition for his exceptional management skills. Considering his impressive resume, the prospect of Klopp taking over the England setup is certainly an intriguing one.
"The FA will definitely approach Klopp about the England job," Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann shared in an exclusive interview with TopOffshoreSportsBooks. "He said he’s taking a sabbatical right now, but it’s possible he’d consider taking over next summer."
Hamann’s endorsement is particularly interesting, given his playing days and familiarity with Klopp’s management style during the German’s time at Anfield.
On paper, Klopp is undoubtedly an attractive candidate for the England job. Who better to lead the national side to World Cup glory in 2026 than the man who led Liverpool to several major honors? Hamann agrees, suggesting that England boasts a talented squad ripe for domination in the coming years.
"It’s definitely something that could get England fans dreaming. With the squad they’ve got right now and the age of the players, they’ll be a force for the next two or three tournaments," Hamann stated, making a compelling case for Klopp’s suitability as the next England manager.
Time will tell if the FA makes contact with Klopp and, if successful, whether he’ll be willing to trade Anfield for Wembley.
