Erik ten Hag Gives Huge Leny Yoro Injury Update Ahead of Spurs Clash

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has provided a major update on the injury status of young defender Leny Yoro, who is set to miss the upcoming Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Yoro, 18, suffered a metatarsal injury during a pre-season friendly against Arsenal, which required surgery. The injury was a major blow to United, who had been impressed by the French youth international’s performances in the summer.

According to sources, United knew that Yoro was at risk of suffering a metatarsal problem during his medical, but decided to press ahead with his signing. The original prognosis was that Yoro would be out of action for three months, but ten Hag has now given a significant update on his recovery.

"Yes, he is doing very well," ten Hag said. "It is very pleasing that his rehab is going in the right direction, and I expect him soon. But what I mean by soon is that he is now in the right planning process. He is in the right spot. He will return as soon as possible into the squad and then the team training."

While Yoro won’t be fit in time to face Spurs on Sunday, his progress is a major boost for United, who have been struggling for consistency this season. The young defender has been working tirelessly to regain his fitness, and it’s clear that ten Hag is pleased with his progress.

United will be looking to bounce back against Spurs after draws against Crystal Palace and FC Twente. While they failed to score at Selhurst Park, Sam Lammers cancelled out United’s first half opener in the Europa League clash against Twente to place further pressure on ten Hag ahead of a packed schedule of fixtures.
