Chelsea’s Squad Crisis: 15 Players Barred from Training as Club’s Squad Size Reaches Unprecedented 43

In a shocking revelation, new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has opened up about the club’s squad size, revealing that 15 players are currently banned from training due to the sheer size of the squad. The Blues have signed eight new players this summer, including Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly, taking their squad to an astonishing 43 players.
With the Premier League season just around the corner, Maresca has been left with a headache, forced to sideline 15 players who are not seen as part of his first-team plans. The Italian manager has handed a small group of 28 players the all-clear to train with the rest of the squad, but it’s likely that more departures are on the horizon.
Conor Gallagher, who looked set to join Atletico Madrid, is currently training apart after his move collapsed at the last minute. Maresca is remaining tight-lipped about the midfielder’s immediate future, but it’s clear that his availability for the upcoming season is hanging in the balance.
Chelsea’s pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is also ongoing, but could come at a cost. The Telegraph reports that Napoli are demanding Chelsea include Romelu Lukaku in any deal, while several Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly interested in prizing Kepa Arrizabalaga away from Stamford Bridge.
As the transfer window enters its final week, it’s clear that Chelsea still have a lot of work to do to balance their squad. With the Premier League season about to kick off, the Blues will need to get their house in order sooner rather than later.
