Consumers have to be cautious on this Saturday 24 September. There will be times when it is more appropriate to put on the washing machine, iron, or use the oven. Knowing which ones are the cheapest allows you to focus on spending and saving on the bill at the end of the month. According to operator Omi, the average reference for the whole day in the wholesale market will be 155.78 euros per MWh, its lowest level since the “Iberian Exception” came into force. Once again, hour to hour will make huge differences.

Wholesale market figures are reflected in consumer receipts. Based on data from Red Electrica the most expensive hours will be reached between 00:00 and 01:00, when the bill price will rise to €160.08 per megawatt hour (MWh). On the other hand, the cheapest time would be recorded between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm, when the megawatt hour would be paid at 50.10 euros.

According to Red Electrica, this is the hourly cost of electricity at the regulated rate (PVPC, Toll 2.0 TD) this Saturday. These figures already include daily and intraday wholesale market costs, adjustment services, financing, costs of variable marketing, tolls and fees. There may also be other concepts such as payment for capacity, surplus or deficit from renewable auctions and cost for interrupted services.
