Eight fastest Premier League players compared to Usain Bolt and the results are shocking

Premier League Speed Demons: Can Any of Them Take Down the Legendary Usain Bolt?

When it comes to speed on the pitch, the Premier League has some of the fastest players in the world. But can any of them match the incredible pace of the one and only Usain Bolt?

The Jamaican sprinter is widely regarded as the greatest sprinter of all time, and for good reason. His world records in the 100m and 200m events are still unbroken to this day. So, we decided to pit the Premier League’s speediest players against Bolt to see if they can take him down.

Using data from Opta Sports, we compiled a list of the fastest Premier League players based on their top speeds in a match. And the winner is… Micky van de Ven, the Tottenham Hotspur centre-back, who reached an astonishing 37.38 kilometres per hour in a match last season!

But Van de Ven’s speed isn’t a surprise, given his experience as a full-back. Close behind is Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, who clocked an impressive 37.31 km/h. And making up the top three is Luton Town’s Chiedozie Ogbene, with a speed of 36.93 km/h.

Other notable mentions include Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga, with a speed of 36.91 km/h, and Wolves’ Pedro Neto, with 36.86 km/h.

But, as impressive as these speeds are, none of them come close to matching Bolt’s world record pace of 37.58 km/h, set in 2009. That’s a 0.20 km/h difference, which may not seem like a lot, but when you’re talking about high-speed movements, it’s a significant margin.

So, while the Premier League has its share of speedy players, they still have a way to go to catch up with the legend of Usain Bolt.
