With his induction, the size of the public transport bus fleet has increased to 7,000.

New Delhi:

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Monday marked 100 low-floor air-conditioned CNG buses and a prototype electric bus from the Indraprastha depot here.

Mr. Gahlot said that these buses are modern and environmentally friendly and will help reduce pollution in the city.

These buses, which were introduced under the Delhi government group scheme, are also equipped with modern facilities like panic buttons and GPS, and are suitable for the disabled.

With his induction, the size of the public transport bus fleet has increased to 7,000.

In January, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had marked down 100 low-floor, air-conditioned CNG buses and a prototype electric bus from the Rajghat depot.

Gahlot said then that the government is making efforts to bring in 300 electric buses by April.
