Cristiano Ronaldo’s response to Lionel Messi taunt during MrBeast video has got fans talking

Cristiano Ronaldo has got fans talking with his reaction to Lionel Messi being taunted in a video with MisterBeast.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has partnered with the most-subscribed YouTuber in the world for a number of videos on both his channels.

The latest was posted on Ronaldo’s ‘UR – Cristiano’, where the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend has 72 million subscribers. The title of the video is, ‘How many goalkeepers are needed to stop Ronaldo?’ It received over a million views within hours of it going up.

As expected, Ronaldo took a penalty against a total of four goalkeepers in the net at Al Nassr’s Al Awwal Park Stadium. MrBeast was at one point alone between the sticks in an attempt to stop the Portuguese superstar from scoring, before his friends joined him.

But a joke about Messi, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner and long-time Ronaldo rival, was what tried to get into the 39-year-old’s mind before stepping up for the final attempt.

MisterBeast told Ronaldo, “Nolan says he doesn’t like you, he thinks you’re not a goat.”

“Nolan is the guy after all, he thinks Messi is better! He calls it football and he said Messi is the GOAT.

Ronaldo saw the funny side and replied, “Who said Messi is better than me?” – all three men finally said, pointing at Nolan before laughing hysterically.

And naturally, the comments about Messi caused a lot of conversation online.

One wrote: “This guy is so obsessed.”

Another said: “This guy always craves attention but the GOAT is a cool guy.”

A third said: “In my entire life, I have never heard Messi being compared to Cristiano Ronaldo.”

A fourth commented: “Messi lives rent free in his mind.”

One end user joked: “Bro still thinking about Messi even after starting new YouTube career.”

In Ronaldo’s defense, he said this in good spirits and unlike previous scenarios, was not at all irritated by the teasing. However, this helped him choose his corner for the final penalty, and throw the ball past Nolan with incredible power and accuracy.

The American hid in a shell and later admitted that he “thought he was going to die”.

Ronaldo is now enjoying the winter break before returning to action with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League clash with Al Ahdoud on January 9.
