Cristiano Ronaldo slams Erik ten Hag and names six Man Utd legends who could help him do a better job

Manchester United Legend Cristiano Ronaldo Calls For Club Legends To Be Hauled Back To Help Reignite Stuttering Utd

Cristiano Ronaldo has launched a stern attack on Manchester United’s current boss Erik ten Hag, stating that the under-fire manager needs guidance to turn the club’s season around. The Portuguese goal-machine has been vocal in his criticism of Ten Hag’s methods, and after a recent interview with the Dutch coach, Ronaldo suggests that the club should seriously consider bringing back some legends to help steer the direction of the team.

Discussing his thoughts on ESPN’s FC, Ronaldo ripped into Ten Hag’s pessimistic attitude, stating “If he listens to some of the guys who’ve been there, like us, like the players we’ve had, I’m sure he’ll improve more.” He went on to name-drop a host of United legends, including David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Wayne Rooney, and even Jose Mourinho, suggesting that “the people who understand this football” would be infinitely more helpful than Ten Hag’s current coaching staff.

Ronaldo’s strong words come after Ten Hag’s recent comments, saying that United are “far away” from winning a Premier League title. Although the Red Devils have begun to show signs of growth under Ten Hag, fan frustration is growing, especially after a disappointing 12th-place finish last campaign.

Ronaldo went on to praise the move to bring back Ruud van Nistelrooy as part of Erik ten Hag’s coaching team, stating “I believe that Ruud is gonna help because he was inside the club. He knows the club. He knows the fans. If the coach listens to him, I think they can improve a little bit the club.”

This isn’t the first time Ronaldo has directly criticized Ten Hag, in a tell-all interview on Piers Morgan’s Ultimatum show, back in 2022 he stated that he had ‘no respect’ for Ten Hag, further highlighting a deep divide between the Portugal international and the United front office.

Manchester United stalwarts Rio Ferdinand and Mark Lawrenson, echoing Ronaldo’s sentiments, weighed in on the situation discussing the need for experienced pros to help guide the first team.

As the speculation continues, it remains a mystery whether United will address Ronaldo’s concerns by pulling in some of the revered figures of the past or whether they’ll continue the current coaching setup. There’s no doubt, at this stage, that these legendary figures would bring crucial insight and expertise to boost the club’s flagging fortunes.
