Cristiano Ronaldo Still Hungry for International Success with Portugal
The Portuguese superstar has reiterated his commitment to the national team, stating that he has no intention of ending his international career anytime soon. Despite failing to score at Euro 2024, Ronaldo is motivated to perform in upcoming Nations League fixtures and is determined to help his country win the competition once again.
Speaking to reporters, Ronaldo expressed his desire to continue being a starter for Portugal until the end of his career. "We’ve already won it once and we want to do it again. I might say the same thing over and over again, but I don’t think long term, it’s always short term," he said.
The 39-year-old also praised coach Roberto Martinez, stating that he continues to be an asset to the national team. "When I’m [no longer] an asset I will be the first to leave. But I will go with a clear conscience, as always, because I know who I am, what I can do, what I do and what I will continue to do," he added.
Ronaldo has been named in Portugal’s squad for upcoming games against Croatia and Scotland, and will be hoping to make an impact after a summer of criticism. Despite his age, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward remains a key player for his country, and his determination to succeed will be a major factor in Portugal’s chances of winning the Nations League.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has also been busy off the pitch, launching his own YouTube channel in August and quickly gaining millions of subscribers. Despite his many achievements, Ronaldo remains driven to succeed, and his passion for football is evident in everything he does.
