The Portuguese football superstar has added another string to his bow by launching his own personal YouTube channel, titled UR Cristiano. The channel dropped on Wednesday, and by the end of the day, it had raked in an astonishing six million subscribers.
Ronaldo, who boasts a colossal social media presence across Facebook, X, and Instagram, has set his sights on conquering the YouTube realm. With over 900 million followers across these platforms, it’s no surprise that his new channel is off to a flying start.
The channel’s about section simply invites viewers to "Welcome to UR Cristiano – the official YouTube channel of Cristiano Ronaldo. SIUUUbscribe!" The channel currently boasts 12 videos, which were likely in the works for some time, judging by the varying view counts (400,000 to over 2.5 million).
The most-watched video so far is a game of Mr & Mrs between Ronaldo and his long-term partner, Georgina Rodriguez. Other popular videos include Ronaldo rating a goal he scored for Portugal against Greece at Euro 2024 (a series that looks set to continue) and a video comparing free-kicks taken by Ronaldo and his oldest son, Cristianinho. We also get a glimpse of Georgina featuring heavily in future content.
Notably, all videos so far have been short and sweet, with none exceeding three minutes in length. Several are under a minute long, making them easy to digest in today’s fast-paced digital age.
YouTube remains a relatively untapped market in the world of football, with Manchester United and England’s Ella Toone among the few prominent footballers to launch vlog-style channels.
