Ronaldo Slams Ten Hag, Says United Need to "Rebuild Everything"
Cristiano Ronaldo has once again taken aim at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, reigniting their long-standing feud. The Portuguese superstar, who left United in January to join Al Nassr, is not holding back in his criticism of the Dutch tactician.
In a recent interview, Ten Hag stated that United are "a long way" from winning the Premier League, which drew the ire of Ronaldo. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner took to social media to express his discontent, saying that the manager’s comments are unacceptable.
"Manchester United, they need to rebuild everything, in my opinion. The coach, they say they cannot compete to win the League and Champions League. Manchester United coach, you cannot say that you’re not going to fight to win the League or Champions League," Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo also claimed that United need to try harder to achieve their goals, saying that Ten Hag’s negative attitude is not what the club needs. "You have to be, to mentally say, listen, maybe we don’t have that potential, but I cannot say that. We’re going to try. You have to try," he added.
The former United forward also defended his own performance during his second spell at the club, stating that he did "amazing" things before his contract was terminated. "When I’m back at Man United, I was very happy. I was one of the best scorers," he said. "I did unbelievable things with the club. My first season with 37, I was the third best scorer of the league."
Ronaldo’s comments come as a surprise to many, given his departure from United just a few months ago. However, it’s clear that the 39-year-old is still deeply invested in the club’s fortunes and is not afraid to speak his mind.
What do you think about Ronaldo’s comments? Should United be looking to rebuild and focus on the future, or can they still challenge for major honors under Ten Hag’s guidance? Let us know in the comments below!
