Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand joke about former Man Utd teammate who used to cry after being ‘slapped’

Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand Dish Out Nostalgic Memories of Manchester United’s Nani and Anderson

In a recent YouTube video, Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand couldn’t help but reminisce about their time at Manchester United, reminiscing about their former teammates Nani and Anderson. The pair shared the dressing room for six years, winning three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two League Cups, and a Champions League trophy together.

On Ronaldo’s new YouTube channel, UR · Cristiano, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner spoke candidly about his goalscoring ambitions. He revealed that he’s targeting 1,000 goals, adding that "if I don’t have injuries, this, for me, is the most important. I want that." Interestingly, he also highlighted the importance of video evidence, stating that "all of my goals have videos, so I can prove that."

But it was Ferdinand’s hilarious anecdote that caught our attention. "Nani used to cry, man, and we’d slap him," he revealed, leaving Ronaldo in stitches. This wasn’t the only time the former Manchester United stars discussed their teammate’s antics, with Ferdinand going on to praise Nani’s pure ability, stating that "I’ve never seen a player hit the ball as clean with both feet, as powerful and as hard as Nani."

However, Ferdinand also highlighted Nani’s struggles with consistency. "He could hit five shots and two could be on target, two could be way off it or two may go close. It was hard for him to find that consistency compared to Rooney or Ronaldo." Despite this, Ferdinand insisted that Nani was a good professional who didn’t drink much, but ultimately lacked the mindset of his more successful teammates.

Anderson, another former United player, also received a mention. Ferdinand joked about how they would often laugh at the Brazilian midfielder’s antics, saying that "Anderson flipping hell" used to cry as well. While the pair’s nostalgia trip brought back some entertaining memories, it also served as a reminder of the highs and lows of playing for Manchester United during that era.
