Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi could be set for one last meeting after the Portuguese giants were linked with a shock move to Al Nassr.
In January 2023, Ronaldo decided to leave European football after a tragic end to his second stint at Manchester United.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner opted to move to Saudi Arabia to sign with Al Nassr.
In the summer of that year, Messi also left Europe as he swapped Paris Saint-Germain for Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami.
Having played against each other on several occasions during their time in European football, the legendary pair last met on the same pitch when Al Nassr took on PSG in an exhibition match in Riyadh in 2023.
It was believed that this was his last meeting with both the players playing in different parts of the world.
However, things can change quickly in football and now, it is being claimed that one last Ronaldo vs Messi match could be in the pipeline.
Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi last time?
As informed According to talkSPORT, Ronaldo is in the last six months of his Al Nassr contract and could sign for rivals Al Hilal in the summer.
If Ronaldo signs for Al Hilal, a reunion with Messi could take place as they are to take part in the revamped FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, a competition which will also include Inter Miami.
The report added: “Don’t be surprised to see Cristiano Ronaldo switch sides to give Saudi side one last chance at Lionel Messi.
“There are suggestions he could leave as a free agent at the end of the season and sign for Al-Hilal, which would be part of the FIFA jamboree.”

During his time with Los Blancos, the 39-year-old player scored 450 goals in 438 matches in all competitions.
As a Madrid player, Ronaldo won four Champions League titles, two La Liga titles and three FIFA Club World Cups, among other trophies.
