In a shocking twist, Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal’s hopes of maintaining their perfect record in the UEFA Nations League were dashed as they were held to a 0-0 draw by a resilient Scotland at Hampden Park.

Despite dominating proceedings, Portugal failed to break down the stubborn Scottish defense, ultimately surrendering a four-match winning streak. Scotland, meanwhile, finally put the brakes on their own four-match losing run.
Speaking after the match, Portugal manager Roberto Martinez acknowledged the difficulties his team faced, "Their goalkeeper was incredible. We couldn’t get a goal, but the performance was positive. Not many teams go undefeated."
He also took responsibility for the team’s lack of creativity, saying, "The danger in these games is to think you’re in control and then suffer on the counter-attack. We kept a clean sheet, we were in control, but we lacked the final pass and the magic inside the area."
Scotland boss Steve Clarke was all praise for his players, who dug in and secured a hard-fought point. "The players dug in and ground out a really good point for us. The fans can be nervous when the opposition have so much possession. But when they did create a big chance, Craig (Gordon) was there to save it. It’s the first time in a long time I have celebrated a save."
