PILIBHIT: Minister of the Interior of the Union Amit Shah on Monday alleged that the SP and the Congress They want to weaken the country’s fight against terrorism, and leaders of both parties have in the past fought for the release of people involved in acts of terror.
At an election rally here, Shah alleged that Congress Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, responding to a question about terrorism in an interview, said they have no time for such “useless talk.”
“On the one hand, the leader of Congress, Priyanka Gandhi, says that it is ‘fizul ki baat’ to control terrorism, on the other hand, the leader of her party, Salman Khurshid, used to say that the SIMI people caught by the explosions of Ahmedabad are innocent and should be released. He also defended them,” Shah said.
Shah alleged that the Samajwadi Party (SP) led by Akhilesh Yadav had also promised in its manifesto to release all those accused in the Sankat Mochan temple bombings and the Lucknow explosions.
All the terrorists would have been released if Allahabad High had not intervened, Shah alleged.
“Should those people who gamble with the country’s security for votes be considered for voting? Congress and the PS together promised to weaken the fight against terrorism,” Shah argued.
Shah said that the BJP believes in zero tolerance against terrorism.
“It is our determination that whoever is spreading terrorism, be he of any religion or caste, must be uprooted from this country and the world,” the minister said. While trying to woo the Sikh community in Pilibhit, Shah said that the sacrifice of the Sikh gurus cannot be forgotten.

Raising the slogan “Jo Bole So Nihal”, Shah stated that both the SP and the BSP have been eliminated in all three phases of the Assembly elections.
He said that the BJP is the true well-wisher of the poor and if the SP comes to power in the elections, “hooliganism will prevail again”.
“In the past five years, Yogi (Adityanath) has eliminated the mafia,” Shah claimed, adding that properties worth more than 2 billion rupees have been freed from criminals.
Pilibhit BJP MP Varun Gandhi, who recently made comments against the party leadership on various farmers’ issues, was not present during Shah’s rally.
