Chelsea transfer ‘collapses’ as Fabrizio Romano confirms it’s ‘100 per cent off’ in headache for Enzo Maresca

Blow to Chelsea’s Transfer Plans as Fabrizio Romano Confirms Armando Broja Deal is 100% Off

Chelsea’s transfer window has been anything but quiet, with the Blues already signing a slew of new players to bolster their squad. However, things have taken a turn for the worse as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that one deal is officially dead.

The Albanian striker Armando Broja was set to join newly-promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town on loan with an obligation to buy for £30 million. However, during the medical, an issue was raised which led to the deal being called off.

Romano took to social media to break the news, stating that "Armando Broja’s move to Ipswich Town is 100% off and collapsed. He’s back to Chelsea now." The news will come as a blow to both Chelsea and Ipswich, who had high hopes for Broja’s arrival.

Despite the setback, Chelsea have had a relatively busy transfer window so far. The Blues have already signed Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Mike Penders, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu, and Tosin Adarabioyo. On the other hand, they’ve offloaded players like Ian Maatsen, Conor Gallagher, Lewis Hall, Omari Hutchinson, Diego Moreira, Tino Anjorin, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea’s season has been a mixed bag so far, with the Blues currently sitting in 10th place in the Premier League table. However, their UEFA Conference League campaign has been a different story altogether. On Thursday night, they secured their place in the competition after beating Swiss side Servette on aggregate.

Speaking after the match, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca expressed his relief at securing a spot in the competition. "In the first half-an-hour we scored the goal and had three or four more chances. If we had been able to score again it would have been finished because we won 2-0 in the first leg," he said.

The Blues’ transfer plans may have taken a hit, but there’s still plenty of time for them to add to their squad before the transfer deadline. Will they be able to salvage their season and make a push for the top six? Only time will tell.
