Chelsea Close to Securing Major Shirt Sponsor Deal
The Blues are finally set to put a shirt sponsor on their chests, weeks into the new Premier League season. But it’s not just about any old deal – this one could be a real game-changer.
The men’s side has gone without a sponsor so far, after Infinite Athlete decided not to extend their agreement from last season. But the women’s side has been flying high, with Three as their front-of-shirt sponsor.
The reason for the delay has been the uncertainty surrounding Champions League qualification. Chelsea had been entering into short-term agreements with sponsors, just in case they made the cut. But now it seems that the situation has changed, and the club is close to securing a major new deal.
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has broken the news, revealing that Chelsea are in talks with three major brands – including Qatar Airways – over a new sponsorship deal. Yes, you read that right – Qatar Airways, the same airline that has sponsored Barcelona and PSG in the past.
Solhekol explained that Chelsea are facing stiff competition from other clubs, but their talks with Qatar Airways are ongoing. "They’re also in talks with two other airlines as well," he said. "But it would be significant if they did a deal with Qatar Airways."
Qatar Airways is no stranger to football sponsorships, having partnered with UEFA as the Official Airline Partner of the Champions League. They’ve even produced a special advert to mark the occasion.
An agreement with Qatar Airways would be a major coup for Chelsea, and a step in the right direction for the club’s commercial strategy. And let’s be real, it’s a big deal for the fans too – who wouldn’t want to see their favorite team’s shirts adorned with the Qatar Airways logo?
So, will Chelsea make it happen? Only time will tell, but for now, it’s a tantalizing prospect. One thing’s for sure, though – we’ll be keeping a close eye on developments. Follow us on all social media platforms for more updates!
