Chelsea Could Land World-Class Striker in Shocking Swap Deal
Chelsea fans are eager to see new signings make a statement in the upcoming season, and it appears that the Blues might be on the verge of landing a top-class forward in a surprise swap deal.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Napoli are looking for ways to offload Victor Osimhen, and the Italian outfit could be open to discussing the Nigerian star as part of a deal that would see Romelu Lukaku join them from Chelsea.
Romano tweeted, "Napoli keep looking for solutions for Victor Osimhen as they want to bring in Romelu Lukaku as soon as possible. Understand Napoli could also be open to discussing Osimhen as part of Lukaku talks with Chelsea. Osimhen said yes to PSG, but deal in stand-by between clubs."
Chelsea have long been linked with Osimhen, with Manchester United and Arsenal also said to be interested in the Nigerian’s services. The 24-year-old has already proven himself in Serie A, scoring 19 goals in 46 appearances for Napoli last season.
Osimhen’s pace, power, and clinical finishing ability would be a fantastic addition to Chelsea’s attack, particularly with the Blues’ lack of depth in the striking department.
Despite a busy transfer window, with the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, and Renato Veiga joining the club, there is still room for improvement in attack. The potential swap deal with Osimhen would be a masterstroke by Chelsea, addressing their lack of depth and power up front.
As the Blues gear up for the new season, fans are eagerly awaiting Enzo Maresca’s first moves in the transfer market. With the team’s recent performance in the friendlies, there’s reason to believe that Maresca might be working on some exciting plans to bolster the squad.
Will Chelsea follow through on the potential swap deal for Osimhen? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – the Blues’ fans will be keeping a close eye on developments as the transfer window unfolds.
