Cesc Fabregas Reveals the Two Unbeatable Teammates He Felt Most Comfortable With
Cesc Fabregas has shared his thoughts on the two teammates he felt most unbeatable with during his illustrious career. The former Spain international, now 37, has had the privilege of playing alongside some of the greatest players in the world, but only two stood out as having an aura that made him feel invincible.
In a recent interview with The Rest is Football Podcast, Fabregas named Thierry Henry and Lionel Messi as the two players who made him feel like they were destined to win. "Thierry [Henry] I think together with Lionel Messi are the two players who I felt much stronger when I was on a football pitch," Fabregas said.
Fabregas, who played for Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona, went on to explain that he felt a sense of confidence and security when playing alongside Henry and Messi. "It is like saying ‘Okay, this could not be my day, the team could not play well’ but you know you will always have Thierry Henry there to save the day," he said.
The former midfielder also recalled a specific game against Everton at Highbury, where he felt an unbeatable aura around him. "We were playing Everton at home and we were in the tunnel at Highbury before stepping onto the pitch and it is difficult to explain because I don’t want it to sound weird or arrogant, but I just knew we were going to win," Fabregas said.
Fabregas’ career has been marked by numerous accolades, including FA Cup and Premier League titles with Chelsea. He also won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2015. Despite his impressive achievements, Fabregas’ partnership with Henry and Messi remains one of the most memorable aspects of his playing career.
