Carlo Ancelotti Tells Real Madrid Star to Find a New Club
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly told Brazilian midfielder Reinier Jesus to find a new club, citing a need for the player to show his qualities elsewhere.
This summer, Los Blancos made headlines by signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Frenchman making a big-money move to the Santiago Bernabeu after his contract expired at the end of the 2023-2024 season. The club also brought in highly-rated Brazilian youngster Endrick.
However, with just a few days left of the transfer window, Ancelotti has seemingly told Reinier Jesus that he’s not part of his plans for the upcoming season. The 21-year-old midfielder was on loan at Frosinone last season and has struggled to break into the first team at Real Madrid.
When asked about Reinier Jesus during a press conference, Ancelotti said: "What I would recommend is a team where he can show his qualities. Simply that."
This move comes as no surprise, given that Real Madrid have a wealth of midfield talent at their disposal. With players like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Casemiro already established in the team, it’s clear that Reinier Jesus has fallen down the pecking order.
Mbappe’s Slow Start to Life in Madrid
Meanwhile, Ancelotti was also asked about Kylian Mbappe’s start to life in Madrid, with the Frenchman yet to score in his first three games for the club. Ancelotti remained calm, saying: "Each year the team changes, the structure of the team changes, that’s quite normal. Last year we needed time too. Early on, we won a lot of games in the last few minutes. We have to adjust the team a bit this year and find its best version."
He added: "We’ve got a lot of resources. We’ve had three games and scored six goals, with the team not being at its best. Not scoring goals won’t happen, it’s never happened here. The last goal MbappĂ© scored was August 14 [in the Super Cup] and today is August 28. That’s two weeks. It isn’t the time to worry. He isn’t worried, and neither are we. VinĂcius [Junior] hasn’t scored in three games, and he doesn’t look worried."
A Compact Team is Key to Success
Ancelotti also spoke about the importance of having a compact team, saying: "What we need is a compact team. The work of the forwards is important, and of the defenders. If a forward presses and the defence doesn’t step up, the team isn’t compact. If the defence drops deep and the forward doesn’t drop, the team isn’t compact. It isn’t about individuals."
