Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched a new Fiber Entry monthly broadband plan at Rs. 329 for clients. BSNL Bharat Fiber’s cheapest plan yet, the new broadband internet plan will offer speeds of up to 20 Mbps. Currently available in select states. The plan has a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit of 1,000 GB (1 TB), after which subscribers may browse at slower speeds, depending on the service provider. The latter offers high-speed browsing at 30 Mbps, with a FUP limit of 3,300 GB (3.3 TB), after which browsing speed drops to 2 Mbps. As mentioned above, BSNL also offers local calls and unlimited STDs to any network as part of the Fiber Entry plan, along with a 90 percent discount on the first month’s rent.

While the price of the plan is listed at Rs. 329, does not include taxes, which means subscribers will have to pay a total of Rs. 388 (with 18 percent GST or Rs. 59 extra) and offers a cheaper alternative for subscribers who don’t require a lot of data each month. Meanwhile, BSNL is facing competition from its biggest rival Reliance. According to data from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio’s subscriber base increased to 4.34 million in November 2021, while BSNL’s client base dropped to 4.2 million.
