Ange Postecoglou Unleashes Fury on Tottenham After Leicester Draw
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou was left fuming after his side’s opening Premier League match against Leicester City ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw. The Australian manager blasted his players for their lack of composure and ruthlessness in front of goal, claiming they were wasteful and made poor decisions throughout the game.
In the first half, Spurs dominated possession and took the lead through Pedro Porro’s goal. However, Leicester came out stronger in the second half, with Jamie Vardy equalizing on his return to the Premier League. The Foxes almost snatched a late winner when Lucas Bergvall lost possession, but Guglielmo Vicario made a crucial save to deny Wilfried Ndidi’s header.
Postecoglou’s frustration was evident as he spoke to the media after the match. "Disappointing night for us," he said. "First half, excellent, controlled the game. Wasteful in front of goal. The second half was the same. We started off well, wasteful in front of goal. Once Leicester scored, you could tell they lifted, the crowd lifted. We lost our composure and let them back in the game."
The Spurs boss also addressed the issue of ring rust, which has been a problem for his team in the past. "I don’t buy ring rust," he said. "It’s an issue we had last year as well – we need to keep working hard at it and being more ruthless in front of goal."
