Ancelotti Unfazed by Mbappé’s Goal Drought, Confidence Remains High
Kylian Mbappé made a stunning debut for Real Madrid, scoring on his first competitive appearance against Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup final. Since then, the French forward has failed to find the back of the net in Real Madrid’s first two league matches against Mallorca and Real Valladolid.
Despite his lack of goals, Mbappé’s performance against Valladolid was impressive, showcasing his individual brilliance. However, he struggled to gel with his attacking teammates, which limited his impact on the game.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is confident that Mbappé will eventually break his goal drought. The Italian tactician believes that the Frenchman will score goals, just as he has always done, and is not concerned about his lack of form.
"Mbappé? He has no restrictions to play as a number 9. He moves very well and has 3 or 4 chances. He will score them eventually as he has always done," Ancelotti said.
Mbappé will have a chance to score his first goal in La Liga when Real Madrid take on Las Palmas on Thursday. However, it’s essential that he steps up his training and understanding with his attacking teammates, including Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. Las Palmas are known for their defensive solidity, and Real Madrid will need to be at their best to come out on top.
Despite his struggles, Mbappé’s confidence remains high, and Ancelotti’s backing will only boost his morale. The French forward is a world-class player, and it’s only a matter of time before he starts scoring goals for Real Madrid.
