Ancelotti not concerned by Mbappé’s slow start

Title: Ancelotti Shrugs Off Slow Start: Mbappé Settling In Fine at Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti is not panicking about Real Madrid’s sluggish start to the LaLiga season, claiming that criticism is simply a sign of the team’s exceptional standards. Despite a slow start, the boss is happy with new signing Kylian Mbappé, who has only scored once in four games so far.

Mbappé, France’s star forward, joined the club from Paris Saint-Germain in June and is currently playing alongside Vinícius Júnior. The duo may not have clicked just yet, but Ancelotti believes they have the potential to cause chaos down the flank.

“I think [Mbappé] is playing very well, even if he hasn’t scored yet,” Ancelotti said. “His influence creates danger. Him settling in here is not a problem.” Ancelotti acknowledged that Mbappé has had a few close calls but is confident that his influence on the game will soon translate to goals.

The Real Madrid boss, who led the team to a double-winning season last year, brushed off concerns about the team’s sluggish start, citing their high standards.

“It’s absolutely normal [the criticism] because the demands on this team are at their highest,” Ancelotti said. “We are going to be criticised until May. This is normal for us.”

Ancelotti emphasized that the season is long, and a few setbacks early on should not be a major cause for concern.

The champions are currently fourth in the LaLiga table, four points behind leaders Barcelona, who have won all three of their opening games. Ancelotti is eager to see his team tighten up at the back and improve their defending.

“We are trying to solve our problems,” Ancelotti said. “So far we have not been able to have a compact block and we have to improve this. I have talked about it with the players and they agree.”

Ancelotti remains optimistic, and fans will be keen to see his side bounce back this weekend against Real Betis.
