Ancelotti Reveals Real Madrid Will Be His Last Coaching Job, Backs Vinicius for Ballon d’Or
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Real Madrid will be the final club of his illustrious coaching career. The Italian tactician has managed some of the biggest clubs in the world, winning multiple titles with AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, before joining Los Blancos in 2021. And, in a recent interview, he shared his thoughts on his future plans, hinting that he might consider taking a national team job, but only if he loses the day-to-day interaction with his players.
A Legendary Career
With 29 seasons under his belt, Ancelotti has built a remarkable reputation, winning 20 major titles and cementing his status as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the sport. And, as he prepares for life after Real Madrid, he has chosen to back one of his young stars, Vinicius Júnior, for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.
Vinicius: A Talented Player
"I think Vinicius is going to win because he is a talented player and he did really well last season," Ancelotti said. "He scored six goals and set up five more in 10 Champions League appearances. He has a good image, and he’s a young player who has already won a Champions League title and a La Liga trophy."
A Strong Squad
Ancelotti also spoke about the strength of his current squad, citing the arrival of Endrick and Kylian Mbappé as significant additions to his team. "We have built a fantastic squad," he said. "When Cristiano Ronaldo left in 2018, year after year we were able to bring in fantastic young players. Vinicius, Rodrygo, and [Fede] Valverde, then Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Bellingham, Arda Güler, and now Kylian Mbappé. We have a fantastic squad, with fantastic young talent. But the key point is the spirit that the veterans are able to keep in the squad, like Carvajal… This connection was really good to have success in the last few years."
Mbappé’s Arrival
Regarding Mbappé, Ancelotti is confident that he will adapt quickly to the team, emphasizing the importance of putting the team’s success above individual talent. "I think it will not be a problem," he said. "The key point is that every player has to put his talent at the service of the team and the teammates. For Kylian Mbappé, it will be exactly the same."
The Road Ahead
As Real Madrid continues to build towards another successful season, Ancelotti’s backing of Vinicius for the Ballon d’Or award will certainly spark debate among football fans around the world. With a talented squad and a legendary coach at the helm, it’s an exciting time to be a Real Madrid supporter.
