It was a night to remember for Al-Nassr and their fans as Cristiano Ronaldo inspired his team to a narrow 2-1 win over Al-Rayyan in their AFC Champions League Elite group stage fixture. Ronaldo’s heroics came in the dying minutes of the game, with Al-Nassr leading by a single goal and 14 minutes on the clock. The 38-year-old legend struck a shot into the top corner, leaving the Al-Rayyan goalkeeper with no chance. It was a fitting end to a pulsating encounter that saw both teams create plenty of scoring opportunities.
The Saudi club took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal from former Liverpool and Bayern Munich winger Sadio Mane. However, Al-Rayyan pulled one back in the 87th minute through Roger Guedes, setting up a thrilling finish. Ronaldo’s goal proved to be the winner, and it capped off an impressive individual display from the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
With this win, Al-Nassr moved up to third place in Elite Group B, having collected a win and a draw from their first two games this season.
