Ivan Toney’s Saudi Dreams: £45m Offer to Leave Brentford Behind
Brentford’s star striker Ivan Toney is reportedly in line for a life-changing move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli, with a mouth-watering £45m deal on the table. The England international has been linked with several Premier League clubs, but it seems the Saudi giants are willing to break the bank to secure his services.
According to reports, Al Ahli are offering Toney a staggering £15m per year salary, a significant increase from his current Brentford pay packet. The three-year contract would see him earn a whopping £45m, making him one of the highest-paid players in the Middle East.
Toney’s impressive form for Brentford has caught the attention of several top clubs, but it appears Al Ahli are willing to outbid the rest. The Saudi side has already bolstered their squad with the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Franck Kessie, and Gabri Veiga, and Toney would be a welcome addition to their star-studded lineup.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank remains hopeful of keeping Toney at the Gtech Community Stadium, but it’s clear the player’s future is uncertain. Frank has built a strong relationship with Toney, but the allure of a lucrative deal in Saudi Arabia may prove too tempting to resist.
"We’re getting closer and closer to the reality that he is actually a Brentford player," Frank told Sky Sports. "I think we’re getting more and more excited because he’s a top player and I love working with Ivan. We’ve got a fantastic relationship. That’s why I think he will be a Brentford player after the deadline."
However, it’s hard to see Toney turning down a deal worth £45m. The offer is too good to refuse, and it’s likely Brentford will have to accept the inevitable if they’re unable to match Al Ahli’s offer.
