Manchester United Reject Shock Bid for Scott McTominay, Tell Club to Double Their Money

Manchester United have reportedly rejected a surprise bid from Galatasaray for midfielder Scott McTominay, with the Turkish club offering just £12.6 million for the Scotland international.

According to Turkish journalist Ali Naci Kucuk, Galatasaray’s offer was rejected by United, who are demanding a whopping £25 million for the 27-year-old midfielder. The Red Devils are said to be unwilling to sell McTominay for anything less than their asking price.

McTominay has been a key player for United in recent seasons, scoring 10 goals in 43 appearances last term as the club finished eighth in the Premier League and won the FA Cup. His current contract at Old Trafford runs until 2025, with the option to extend beyond that.

Galatasaray, who have already signed right-back Elias Jelert for €9 million and drafted in former Chelsea pair Hakim Ziyech and Michy Batshuayi on free transfers, are looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season. They have also been linked with Manchester City’s out-of-favour midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

Kucuk believes that McTominay could still end up at Galatasaray if United’s valuation is not met by other clubs. "If Manchester United don’t get the offers they want, McTominay could go to Galatasaray for €20m," he said. "Let me remind you, Galatasaray signed Mauro Icardi in September."

United fans will be relieved to hear that their club is not willing to sell McTominay for a cut-price deal. The midfielder has become a fan favourite at Old Trafford and his departure would be a significant blow to the team.
