2025 Concacaf Champions Cup Qualification Process Underway
Just two months after the conclusion of the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup, the qualification process for the 2025 edition has already begun. As the top teams from North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, prepare to battle it out for the prestigious title, we’re here to break down the qualification process and who’s already made it to the tournament.
Liga MX
The Mexican Liga MX will be represented by six teams in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup. The Apertura and Clausura champions, as well as runners-up, automatically qualify for the tournament. So far, Club America and Tigres UANL have secured their spots after winning their respective tournaments. The final two Mexican teams will be determined by points earned in the Apertura and Clausura.
MLS
Only two teams from Major League Soccer (MLS) will qualify for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup. The MLS Cup winner and the Supporters’ Shield winner will automatically earn their spot in the tournament.
Domestic Cups
The U.S. Open Cup will be a vital pathway for teams to qualify for the tournament. The winner of the competition will earn a spot in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.
Regional Cups
The Leagues Cup, a competition between Liga MX and MLS teams, will also have a direct impact on the qualification process. The winners of the competition, Inter Miami, will represent their league in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.
