Ederson’s wife responds to claims he’s been ‘affected’ by praise for Stefan Ortega

Ederson’s Wife Claps Back at Claims He’s Been Affected by Praise for Stefan Ortega

In a bizarre twist, Ederson’s wife Lais Moraes has fired back at claims that the Manchester City goalkeeper has been affected by praise for his teammate Stefan Ortega.

The speculation emerged from a recent article by Sam Lee of The Athletic, which suggested that Ederson’s confidence had taken a hit due to the impressive displays of Ortega, who produced a title-winning save to deny Spurs captain Heung-Min Son in the penultimate game of last season.

Ederson had been forced off with an injury and was said to be furious, leading some to believe that he would not have made the same save if he were fit.

However, Ederson’s wife took to Instagram to dismiss the claims, writing: "Get better information first, this is totally fake news."

Ortega’s new contract was announced in June, and Pep Guardiola refused to confirm whether Ederson will be staying put at City. Speaking in a press conference, Guardiola said: "I don’t know. He has to see maybe other options. Of course, I would like him to stay but it depends now on the clubs."

Ederson has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad, with City reportedly demanding £50 million for his services. The Brazilian international has made 332 appearances for City, winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, one Champions League, and four Carabao Cups.
