United Prepare To Offload Stars To Bankroll Squad Revamp

Manchester United Open to Selling Multiple Stars to Fund Transfer Business

Manchester United are looking to cash in on several senior players to fund further transfer business this summer, according to sources close to the club. The Old Trafford outfit have already made two significant signings, bringing in Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro, but are keen to strengthen their squad in key areas.

The Red Devils have been quoted £88 million for the two Dutch youngsters, with the pair joining to replace Anthony Martial and Raphaël Varane. However, manager Erik ten Hag is still eager to sign a central midfielder, another centre-back, and a right-back to bolster his squad.

Rio Ferdinand, a United legend, reportedly played a role in Yoro’s decision to join the club, speaking to him 10 minutes before he made the switch. The 45-year-old told him about the club’s history and what it takes to succeed at Old Trafford.

United are still interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, although the two clubs remain apart in their valuations. A permanent deal for the 25-year-old could be difficult to facilitate, given his impressive form for Bayern.

The sale of Mason Greenwood to Marseille for a fee that could rise to £26.6m has provided some much-needed funds for the transfer kitty. However, the club are not just looking to move on fringe players to free up space in their squad. High-profile stars like Victor Lindelöf, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Christian Eriksen could all be sold if the right bids come in.

Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, and Antony are also reportedly available, although all three have significant price tags attached. Jadon Sancho, who recently started the preseason friendly against Rangers, is another player who could be sold for around £40m.

Sancho, who has been reintegrated into the squad following his public fall-out with ten Hag, has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain. PSG are looking for a player who suits their profile, and Sancho is someone who fits the bill. However, United want a permanent deal for the winger, rather than a loan move.

Sources tell us that PSG are also considering other options, including AC Milan’s Rafael Leão, Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, and Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. All three players have high price tags, but PSG are willing to invest heavily in the right players.

One rumor that has been debunked is the supposed interest from PSG in signing Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. While it’s possible that Fernandes could leave the club eventually, it would take a huge offer to prise him away from Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Højlund, and Eriksen have all returned to training after participating in international duty. United will begin their US tour on Wednesday, facing Arsenal at SoFi Stadium on Saturday.
