Huge Star ‘Approached’ by Manchester City as Ederson Replacement
The transfer window is always filled with drama and surprises, and the latest news coming out of Manchester City has got everyone talking. According to reports, the Premier League giants have approached a high-profile goalkeeper to replace Ederson if he leaves the club this summer.
Ederson has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad reportedly making contact with Manchester City about a potential transfer. The Brazilian goalkeeper is valued at around £50 million, and Al Ittihad are prepared to test that resolve in what would be a major signing for the Saudi Pro League.
If Ederson does leave the club, Pep Guardiola will be tasked with finding a replacement for his No.1 goalkeeper. And, according to Ben Jacobs, Manchester City have already identified their top target – Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The 25-year-old Italian goalkeeper is currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain, where he has made 114 appearances across all competitions. Donnarumma has been one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and his impressive performances have caught the attention of many top clubs.
But, despite being approached by Manchester City, Donnarumma is happy at PSG and has held early-stage discussions about extending his stay in France. However, the Italian goalkeeper is thought to be interested in playing in the Premier League at some stage in his career.
Ederson, on the other hand, has been a Manchester City player since 2017, following his move from Benfica. He has played 332 games for the club, having been a regular starter under Guardiola.
The battle for Donnarumma’s signature is far from over, and it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga unfolds. Will Manchester City be able to secure his services, or will PSG hold on to their star goalkeeper?
