Mourinho Pulls Off Masterstroke as Fenerbahce Land 20-Goal Striker
The transfer window has been buzzing, and José Mourinho has made his move, convincing a 20-goal-a-season striker to ditch his former club Roma and join him at Fenerbahce.
The Special One joined Fenerbahce last month, tasked with guiding the Istanbul outfit to their first Turkish Super Lig title since 2013-14. With last season’s league form, Fenerbahce gained 99 points, winning 31 games and losing just once in 38 matches, only to miss out on the title to bitter rivals Galatasaray.
Mourinho’s arrival has sparked new hope for Fenerbahce, with his unveiling attracting thousands to the club’s Sukru Saracoglu Stadium. He’s already made his mark on the team, signing ex-Newcastle star Allan Saint-Maximin on loan. Now, he’s reportedly closed in on Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, beating out Roma to the Moroccan striker’s signature.
Schira, a respected sport journalist, revealed on Twitter that Fenerbahce are in advanced talks with Sevilla for En-Nesyri, who scored 20 goals across all competitions last season. En-Nesyri has reportedly agreed to a contract until 2028, with a salary of €5 million per year.
Mourinho isn’t slowing down, though. With Fenerbahce still chasing their title dream, they’ve also signed Caglar Soyuncu, Rade Krunic, and Levent Mercan, bolstering their squad ahead of the new season.
En-Nesyri’s arrival will be a huge coup for Fenerbahce, as they look to push for a historic title win. The 27-year-old has already impressed in Spain, netting 16 goals in La Liga last season.
The signing sends a clear message to the rest of the league: Fenerbahce mean business. With Mourinho at the helm, they’re hungry for success. As the Special One would say, "This shirt is now my skin. Your dreams are now my dreams."
