EA Sports 25’s Latest Career Mode Addition Leaves Fans Underwhelmed
The wait is almost over for the next installment of EA Sports’ FIFA franchise, with the latest trailer dropping and fans getting a glimpse of what’s to come. However, amidst all the excitement, the new addition to Career Mode has left many feeling underwhelmed.
As we reported earlier, EA has introduced a new feature to Career Mode – the ability to play with "Icons", legendary players from the past who can be called upon to help guide your team to success. This may seem like a dream come true for many fans, but upon closer inspection, it seems like a rather half-baked effort.
The initial excitement quickly turned to disappointment as fans began to realize that these Icons are not, in fact, fully playable in their prime. Instead, they’ll be available to use in Player Career, where you’ll be able to play as them alongside your own created players. While this may be a nice addition for some, it’s not the full-fat experience many fans were hoping for.
One fan took to social media to express their frustration, writing "Who asked for this? It’s not what we wanted, EA!" Others echoed the sentiment, feeling that the addition was a wasted opportunity to really shake things up in Career Mode.
So, what could EA have done differently? Well, for starters, they could have allowed players to control the Icons in their prime, giving us a real taste of what it was like to play alongside some of the greatest players in football history. Alternatively, they could have added more depth to the Player Career mode, giving us more options and customization possibilities.
Despite these criticisms, there are still some positives to take from the latest Career Mode addition. For example, the ability to play with Icons alongside your own created players could be a fun and unique experience, especially for fans of older generations.
