Rodri’s Secret Sadness: The Spaniard’s Post-Match Habit Revealed

Rodri’s Unconventional Post-Match Routine Revealed

Spanish and Manchester City star Rodri has made headlines with his incredible on-pitch performances, but few knew about his unique post-match ritual that sets him apart from other players. According to a recent interview with The Guardian, Rodri has a routine that he follows after every match – and it’s not what you’d expect.

The 28-year-old midfielder revealed that he watches the entire match back, alone, to analyze his performance and identify areas for improvement. "I always watch games back, whole. Especially if I think there are things that can be done better. I watch them alone," he said.

Rodri believes that re-watching the match from a different perspective helps him to gain a new understanding of the game. "You see lots of things you didn’t see on the pitch. The feeling you have watching it is different to how it felt at the time. I often find there are things I don’t even remember having happened. I like to analyze the game, not just mine, but the rest of the team. In my mind, I see moments."

This approach has clearly paid off for Rodri, who has been in phenomenal form for both Manchester City and the Spanish national team. Since February 2023, he has tasted defeat just once, and in that time has won the treble with Manchester City, scoring the winner in the Champions League final, won the UEFA Nations League with Spain, and clinched City’s fourth Premier League title in a row.

Rodri’s incredible success has led to him being named the bookies’ third favourite to win the Ballon d’Or later this year, behind Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham. With Spain set to face off against either England or Croatia in the Euro 2024 final, Rodri’s chances of winning the coveted award could increase.
