Fort Lauderdale: Lionel Messi did not play the 16 -home match in the ConcacAF Champions Cup group of 16 home matches against Jamaica Club Cavalier FC on Thursday night.
The 37 -year -old Star Forward recalled his second consecutive game after sitting out of the MLS match in Houston on Sunday. Messi practiced in the first phase of the house-and-house against Cavalier in Inter Miami’s leadup with the club on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Inter Miami Coach Xavier Mantrano said on Wednesday that the eight -time Ballon D’Or winner was not injured and said that his availability for Thursday was similar to other active players on the roster.
Miami is currently in a stretch of four matches in 11 days. After Thursday’s match, Inter Miami will resume the League Play against Charlotte on Sunday, which will take place in Kingston, Jamaica before his second phase against Cavalier on 13 March.
