“I felt like I didn’t play well in the first half,” he said. “Rodri deserved it, Jude too and many players too. But I’m happy with the win and the goal, even when I played badly.”
Rodrygo praised teammate Bellingham after the England star scored his second goal of the game with a clever backheel.
“It’s very easy to play with Jude, with the movements he makes, the passes he gives,” Rodrigo told Movistar. “The second assist was beautiful, I love playing with her.”
Coach Carlo Ancelotti dismissed concerns about Bellingham’s back injury – saying it was “nothing special” – and said that improving the team’s defense was his primary concern.
“We have no doubts about the players up front,” Ancelotti said. “We will try to fix other things, and improve every game. Our efficiency in attack is incredible. We have to fix other things, but we are in good form.”
