Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed he is planning to buy a football club in a clear hint about his future after retirement.

Al Nassr star Ronaldo remains strong at the age of 39 and has previously said he aims to score 1,000 professional goals before retiring, while the Portuguese currently has 916 goals.

speaking in globe soccer awards On Friday, Ronaldo confirmed that he has no plans to coach after retiring.

But the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star revealed he intends to become a club owner in the future.

During an interview at the beginning of the ceremony he said, “I’m not a coach. I’ll never be a coach or a club president? No. Maybe a club owner.”

The interviewer then pressed him for his comments, asking: “Is this what you want to do to become a club owner?”

To which Ronaldo replied, “Possibly. I’ll see. It depends on the moment, the right opportunity.”

The interviewer replied, “Do you have anything in mind?”

Ronaldo mysteriously replied: “Not yet, maybe a little.”

When Ronaldo was later asked about the situation at his former club United, he reiterated his comments, claiming that he would run the team better than the current majority owners – the Glazer family.

He said, “If I become the owner of the club I will clarify things and adjust what I find bad.”

“I’m still very young, I have a lot of plans and dreams ahead. Mark my words, I will be the owner of a big club. For sure.”

Ronaldo’s current net worth is around £636m according to celebrity net worthA large sum but not enough to buy out any of his former clubs except potentially Sporting CP.

However, even this would be a push, as the Portuguese club is currently valued at around £222m according to Politician,

Ronaldo could potentially consider other clubs in his native Portugal, with boyhood team Nacional a more realistic possibility.

There is also a possibility that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner could be given the opportunity to invest in a club in Saudi Arabia.

It is likely that the Saudis will welcome Ronaldo’s investment in the Saudi Pro League, as well as his continued participation in the competition after his retirement.

Meanwhile, MLS could be another potential opportunity for investment, with Ronaldo’s great rival Lionel Messi already having a reported option in his contract with Inter Miami to purchase an MLS club in the future.

For now, Ronaldo is happy to focus on his playing career and has recently played down the possibility of him retiring in the near future.

He said, “I just want to enjoy playing football. I’m planning my retirement, whether it’s in a year or two, I don’t know. I’ll be 40 soon and as long as I feel motivated I will, I will continue to play.”

He said, “The day I don’t feel inspired, I will retire.”

With the target of 1000 goals still in his sights and the 2026 World Cup also around the corner, it is unlikely he will lose that motivation any time soon.
