Mbappé in line for early injury return in UCL

Mbappé Back in the Mix: Real Madrid Star Cleared to Face Lille in Champions League

By Alex Kirkland and Rodrigo Faez

The Spanish giants have received a massive boost ahead of their Champions League clash against Lille, with Kylian Mbappé declared fit to play after recovering from a thigh injury. Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti confirmed the news in a pre-match press conference, stating that the France international will be assessed before kickoff, but is expected to start from the get-go if he’s 100% fit.

The 24-year-old superstar missed just one game, a 1-1 draw at Atlético Madrid, after suffering the injury in their LaLiga win over Alavés. A source close to the player had initially suggested a three-week layoff, but Mbappé’s remarkable recovery has seen him clear to return to action earlier than expected.

This development is a significant blow to Lille, who have struggled in Ligue 1 this season and face a daunting task against one of the top teams in Europe. The French club has won just five of their 10 games, and will need to raise their game significantly to avoid a heavy defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Ancelotti Reacts to Atlético Derby Incident

In related news, Ancelotti chose not to comment on the controversy surrounding the Atlético Madrid derby, which was interrupted by objects being thrown onto the pitch by opposition fans. The Madrid coach did, however, condemn the violent acts and praised his team’s composure in the face of provocation.

"It’s not a good thing for the image of football," Ancelotti said. "We have to deal with this problem. The referee did the right thing by suspending the game. We can’t allow these kind of incidents to happen."

Tchouaméni Calls for Improved Fan Behavior

Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni echoed Ancelotti’s sentiments, urging fans to behave themselves and not disrupt the game. "It’s not a good thing for the image of football," he said. "We have to deal with this problem. The referee did the right thing by suspending the game. We can’t allow these kind of incidents to happen."
