Gary Lineker and Micah Richards ‘Being Generous’ Picking Four Manchester United Players for a ‘Top Six’ Side
In the latest episode of The Rest Is Football, Gary Lineker, Micah Richards, and Alan Shearer discussed Manchester United’s humbling 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford. One of the hot topics of conversation was Erik ten Hag’s future at the club, with Lineker questioning United’s game plan on the pitch.
However, the conversation took an interesting turn when Richards and Lineker agreed that four Manchester United players would make it into a ‘top six’ side. This joint-fewest tally raises concerns about Ten Hag’s ability to turn things around.
While Richards and Lineker might be being optimistic, their choices highlight the talent available to United. Mainoo’s impressive form, Fernandes’ consistent performances, Rashford’s potential when at his best, and Martinez’s skill when healthy make them top-class players.
