Man Utd ‘already know their top target’ to replace Erik ten Hag and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is a big fan

United Officials Already Know Who Will Replace Erik Ten Hag if He’s Sacked

Manchester United’s dreadful 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday has sparked talks of Erik ten Hag’s future at the club, with some speculating that he could be axed as early as this season. But, according to reports, United officials already know who they want to replace him if that happens – and it’s none other than Thomas Tuchel.

The German manager is said to have impressed Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the United board during meetings ahead of the season, which ultimately led to them sticking with Ten Hag. Tuchel, who currently takes a break from management, reportedly made it clear that he wanted to recharge his batteries after a testing spell at Bayern Munich, which seemingly ruled him out of the running at the time.

However, just three months later, his availability could have changed – and United will likely reconsider him if they decide to part ways with Ten Hag. The Dutchman won just three of eight matches this season, and rumors are swirling that his tenure could be coming to an end.

When asked about his job security, Ten Hag remained calm, telling media that he’s focused on the team’s future and doesn’t have concerns about being sacked. "I am not thinking about this. We all made this decision to stay together, as an ownership, as a leadership group in the summer," he said.

"We are all on one page or in one boat together – the ownership, the leadership group, the staff and the players as well. I don’t have that concern."
