Jordan Henderson squares up to his team-mate during Europa League game, he completely lost it

Henderson’s Fury: Ajax Captain Loses His Cool in Europa League Win

Jordan Henderson’s reputation as a fiery leader on the pitch was on full display during Ajax’s 4-0 thrashing of Besiktas in the Europa League. The former Liverpool captain was left seething with rage after one of his teammates, Bertrand Traore, made a costly mistake that gave the ball away.

The incident occurred just after the hour mark, with Ajax already 3-0 up. Henderson, who has been instrumental in Ajax’s impressive start to the season, was furious with Traore’s sloppy play and immediately approached him to vent his frustration. The 34-year-old midfielder was not happy with the response he got from Traore, who began to argue back before teammates Devyne Rensch and Kian Fitz-Jim had to intervene to calm the situation.

Speaking after the game, Henderson downplayed the incident, saying, "If you watch me play over the years, that’s pretty normal to be honest. Intimidating? It’s football! We want to win, we want to improve. If we concede a goal there is still much time left. Sometimes you will have words with each other but it’s good, it keeps everybody on their toes."

Ajax’s dominant performance was capped off by a 4-0 scoreline, with Mika Godts scoring his second goal of the match to seal the win. The Dutch giants have made a strong start to the season, and Henderson’s leadership has been instrumental in their success.

The former Liverpool captain joined Ajax in January, just months after leaving Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League. He has quickly established himself as a key player for the club, making 22 appearances and now captaining the side.

In an interview with CBS Sports, Henderson praised his team’s performance, saying, "From start to finish we were dominant in the game. Some really good stuff, some good goals. We were clinical in front of goal and most importantly the clean sheet as well. Overall it was a very good night for us."
