Getafe President’s Disgusting Response to Player’s Racist Abuse Claims
Angel Torres, the president of Spanish club Getafe, has sparked outrage by criticizing one of his own players, Christantus Uche, for speaking out against racist abuse. Uche, a 21-year-old midfielder, made the shocking claims during an interview with ESPN, alleging that referees in La Liga are ignoring fouls committed against him and that fans are quick to hurl racist insults.
Uche’s Shocking Claims
In the interview, Uche claimed that referees are "so bad" and that they quickly blow the whistle when similar incidents occur elsewhere. He also hit out at fan criticism, saying that some supporters have been hailing him with racist slurs. "Racism is not good, it has to stop. Everybody is the same, everybody is equal," he said.
Torres’ Disgusting Response
However, Torres responded to Uche’s claims by suggesting that the young player should refrain from speaking out until he’s had more experience in Spanish football. "He doesn’t understand," Torres told El Partidazo de COPE. "How can he tell you that? He can’t tell you that. I think you should be more correct and respectful with those things."
Torres also added that Uche’s comments were "a warning" and that the player would have to be careful about what he says in the future. When asked about Uche’s claims on refereeing, Torres refused to comment, instead suggesting that the player should simply not speak out.
