Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that Alisson Becker is a doubt for the upcoming match against Bournemouth, citing a muscle issue that may keep the Brazilian goalkeeper out of the game.
The Reds will be looking to bounce back from a shock defeat to Nottingham Forest with a win over the Cherries, but it seems they’ll have to do it without their first-choice goalkeeper. Slot revealed the news in his press conference, stating that Alisson is still a doubt for training today and may not be fit enough to play.
"We’ll have to wait and see if he’s ready to be in goal tomorrow or we have to wait a few extra days," Slot said. "He has a slight issue with one of his muscles, and we wonder if this game is coming too early or not."
This could be a major blow for Liverpool, as Alisson has been instrumental in their success this season. With Caoimhin Kelleher likely to deputise, the Reds will be relying on the young Irish goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet and help them secure all three points.
