Mbappé, Bellingham warn: Madrid will improve

Mbappé’s Goalscoring Run Continues, But What’s Missing for Real Madrid?

Kylian Mbappé is on a hot streak, scoring five goals in seven games for Real Madrid since joining the club this summer. Despite his impressive form, the French forward believes he can do even more. Joining him in his confident assessment is teammate Jude Bellingham, who thinks the reigning LaLiga champions can improve.

The duo spoke after Madrid’s hard-fought 3-1 win over Stuttgart in the Champions League on Tuesday. Mbappé broke the deadlock early in the second half, netting his third goal in as many games for Madrid. The France captain also celebrated Endrick’s debut goal, praising the young Brazilian forward’s skill.

"I know I’m going to do more," Mbappé said. "Every game I feel better and now I’m scoring goals. I’m happy here."

Bellingham, meanwhile, acknowledged that there is room for improvement. Despite Courtois’s heroics in goal, Madrid conceded a late equaliser before late goals from Rudiger and Endrick sealed the win. The England midfielder believes his team can be more consistent.

"We have to try to make sure Courtois walks away with a clean sheet," Bellingham said. "There are still things we can improve. I think we need some time for all of us to get back to our best. Once we click it’ll be great. We play great at times now as well. We just need to be more consistent."

Mbappé and Bellingham have formed a strong bond off the pitch, with the French forward praising their rapport. "Kylian has arrived, I have a great relationship with Rodrygo and the feeling we have is that we’ve been together for a long time," he said. "We’re all good friends off the pitch and we enjoy playing. Today [Tuesday] we exemplified that on the pitch."

As Real Madrid look to bounce back from their LaLiga defeat to Real Sociedad, it’s clear that they still have work to do. Despite their strong attacking quartet, Bellingham believes that Madrid can be more consistent in their performances.
